We are now in Virginia, I will write about this soon, For now… two days in New York! A quick summary – our area of Queens was incredibly colorful, multiethnic, and friendly. When we came back from Manhattan on Friday night, people were socializing on the street, there was a gospel group singing in Spanish on the sidewalk. Our walk across the Brooklyn Bridge earlier that day was a terrifying thrill, along with lots of tourists and selfie sticks. The sound was like an ongoing blast, and the bridge sways! Manhattan itself is a mixture of quiet and spectacular and explosive. Our walk along the Hudson was relaxing and fun. We loved Greenwich Village, especially Washington Square Park with its collection of characters, musicians, performance artists and relaxing New Yorkers. We found a great veggie restaurant there!Times Square, though, is like a combination of a Fritz Laing movie with scenes from “Bladerunner”.. chaotic to put it mildly. Our summing up… New York is a blast with magic in its cracks and cracks in its magic. Definetly a fascinating place that deserves more looks. I will blog again next time I find a computer.
